Delair’s Carpet Barn offers an expert hardwood refinishing service that makes your dull, worn or damaged wood floor look exactly as it did when it was first installed. We understand that many older wood floors are not likely to need costly complete replacement once they lose their luster. Instead, even with proper care, aging wood floors will only require far less costly wood floor refinishing service to restore their bright shine and great visual appearance.

Our Vermont State licensed and insured technicians can provide affordable hardwood refinishing services for customers in our area of Central Vermont. This amazing process can take your hardwood floors back from being embarrassingly lackluster, to once more having the beautiful visual appearance just as they had when they were brand new. When the wood floor refinishing service has been completed, your floors will look great and will also be protected from future damage as well. You can expect—and will get-- decades more of additional use.

There’s a simple way to learn if wood floor refinishing service is necessary

Determining whether or not you need wood floor refinishing service for your floors, is actually very simple. First your eyes will tell you. The floors won’t look as beautiful or lustrous as they used to look. They will appear dull, and damage may well be quite obvious. Moreover, you can perform an easy test to really find out:

Sprinkle a few drops of water on the surface of your hardwood floor. (Don’t overdo it!) Then, take note of the following:

1. Does the water just stay on the floor’s surface, or does it sink in very slowly? If it does, you can likely wait several more months and get by with just regular cleaning and polishing.
2. Does the water soak into your floor quite rapidly? If so, this tells you that the finish has worn away, and is allowing the water to flow downward into the wood itself. If there is obviously no serious damage to the wood, you can still restore it inexpensively with our simple wood floor refinishing service.
3. Are stains, gouges, scuffs, uneven areas, or even buckling obvious? These are defects that must be removed by the wood floor refinishing service as quickly as possible. If there has been enough water seepage through the polyurethane surface coating on the wood to cause warping or buckling, the problem must be corrected before it becomes necessary to remove the flooring altogether and opt for a costly new complete installation!
